The Department of Medicine has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Academic Services Senior Professional position.

Nature of Work :

Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.

Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed fully independently.

The Hospitalized Adult Clerkship Coordinator is responsible for administrative and financial management of the MS3 Hospitalized Adult Clerkship and MS4 Medicine Sub-internship. This includes administration of Team Based Learning curriculum and NBME exams, grade compilation and submission, program data analysis, student credentialing, faculty appointments to the CUSOM, website development, training of faculty and residents on software programs used for student curriculum and evaluation, implementation of new policies and curriculum delivery, liaison for national medical student offices, CUSOM faculty and residents policy expert for clerkship, serves as ombudsman for the students, using discretion to process and resolve sensitive and/or confidential issues during student rotations, student advisor on fourth year scheduling, SOM requirements and ERAS applications for residency, preparation of student program operations budget and daily financial management of student operations and residency education fund management.

Supervision Received :

The Hospitalized Adult Clerkship Coordinator reports directly to the DOM Education Program Administrator.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $43,064 to $63,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • 2 years of professional level experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Substitution : A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a healthcare organization and a higher education or academic setting.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, documents and maintain strict confidentiality in all applicable matters using professionalism and discretion conversations.

  • Ability to multitask, initiate solutions to operational problems and implement operational changes.

  • Ability to work and think independently, self- motivated, and detail oriented.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
