Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Staffing/Scheduling Specialist - Hospital in Crosby, Minnesota


  • The Staffing/Scheduling Specialist is responsible for performing assigned staffing, scheduling and electronic timekeeping for current nursing personnel data in Hospital Nursing Services. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Good communication, phone, computer, and problem solving skills are also necessary to meet the goals of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center to include high quality care and overall efficiency.


  • Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of college required. Previous healthcare or scheduling experience with e-time systems preferred. Experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Windows environment.

  • Special Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Ability to answer and direct calls on a multi-line telephone system.

  • Ability to operate all equipment required for this position.

  • Possesses good organizational skills.

  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation.

  • Understanding of staffing patterns and their construction.

  • Knowledge of Union contracts, RN Employment Policies and Medical Center personnel policies.

  • Knowledge of Hospital Nursing Services personnel forms, records, reports.

  • Knowledge of payroll procedure.

  • Maintains good physical and mental health.

  • Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment.


  • Assess and adjust staffing levels.

  • Daily monitoring of time and adjusting systems.

  • Monitor attendance and staffing trends.

  • Problem solving.

  • Daily collaboration with departments to ensure appropriate staffing levels.

  • Working knowledge of policies and compliance as it relates to conditions of employment.

  • Assist and coordinate meeting schedules.

  • Establish appropriate priorities for receiving, recording, relaying and acting on information for staffing employees.

  • Assist with requisition process for replacement/new positions.

  • Schedule and track on boarding process for new employees.

  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written communication.

  • Demonstrate Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
