Job purpose :

BD Diabetes Care is committed to improving the lives of patients with diabetes as well as healthcare workers by offering best in class injection delivery devices, as well as related education and services, across the full continuum of care.

This position will be responsible for executing the BD Diabetes Care strategy to drive increased sales of Diabetes Care products in the acute care setting. The Regional Account Manager, Hospital will plan and execute sales activities targeted at key decision makers in the acute care channel. The Regional Account Manager, Hospital is a highly competent sales performer with the ability to work collaboratively within target accounts to drive Diabetes Care sales goals across Safety Pen Needles and Safety Syringes.

The Regional Account Manager, Hospital will require internal collaboration with their counterparts in DC and other BD Business Units as well as the Strategic Customer Group to support diabetes care efforts across their acute care accounts. They will be responsible for identifying opportunities across IDNs and ensure the prioritization of DC strategy execution and sales growth in their region.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Achieve Territory sales targets/quotas

  • Maintain existing business while focusing on growth opportunities.

  • Effectively develops account level strategies and plans to drive successful conversion to BD products among targeted accounts.

  • Demonstrates leadership and execution in negotiations with accounts to attain business goals

  • Leverages internal and external relationships to identify customer leads

  • Collaborate across BUs to prioritize DC strategy execution.

  • Manage the conversion process of new business.

  • Regularly forecast territory / account performance over 12-month window, and be accountable for forecast accuracy in salesforce.com

  • Lead and participate in key projects as assigned by Leadership

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in business or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5+ years of documented sales success in pharmaceutical or medical device sales, preferably in the hospital market.

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare / hospital buying and contracting processes for both clinical and economic products

  • Understanding of US healthcare landscape, including role of payers, GPOs, distributors

  • Diabetes experience preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including some weekends.
