Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Finance Director - North America Medical Devices FP&A. Located in Hopewell, NJ with ability to commute to West Chester, PA [20% of time]. This position is responsible for the strategic financial leadership and management of the North America Hospital Medical Device Financial Reporting organization which provides support for the DePuy, Ethicon and Cardiovascular & Specialty Services businesses ($11bn in Revenue), delivering FP&A services covering areas such as planning & forecasting, regional sales consolidation, balance sheet and free cash flow, franchise/platform reporting and direct Operating Expense budget support while also leading the advancement of process, analytics and MD Finance SigniFi Transformation. This role will report to the CFO/VP of WW DePuy and will have a strong partnership to the other Franchise CFO/VPs as well as North America Commercial Senior Finance Directors. The Director will lead a team of 21 employees with 3 direct reports. Additionally, this role will be a key member of the NA Commercial Chief of Staff and will be a direct partner to BUIT, Distribution, Supply Chain PMO and Procurement.

Key Activities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Orchestrate the end-to-end forecasting process for the North America Hospital Medical Device P&L, Balance Sheet and Free Cash Flow with strong stakeholder partnership and ongoing process improvements to ensure on-time corporate submissions.

  • Shape and deliver key management presentations (NA Region, Sales, Gross Profit and Free Cash Flow) in partnership with finance and business stakeholders as well as managing the risk profile for NA HMD region including coordination and development of solutions that maximize growth while delivering income and free cash flow commitments in a compliant manner.

  • Direct ownership and commercial business partnering for $575MM of Operating Expenses including Commercial Support Functions (Global Education Solutions, Strategic Customer Group & Commercial Operations), Admin and New Business Development/Global Business Insights GOC Budgets.

  • Strong collaboration across a vast interaction model including, but not limited to, Sector Group Finance, Franchise Commercial, Supply Chain, Distribution, Tax, Innovation, Global Commercial, US and International Global Services and Corporate Legal.

  • Assess and simplify current processes and structures while executing the J&J Global Finance Transformation Vision across the organization as the HMD SigniFi Change Agent.

  • Lead and support various Medical Device, Sector, Corporate and Commercial Ad hoc projects.

  • Maintain a strong financial compliance culture and ensure integrity in planning execution & reporting.


  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting or Finance.

  • An MBA, CPA, CMA and/or other financial certifications are strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of finance and/or accounting experience is required.

  • Prior people management with passion for people development and talent management is required.

  • The candidate must be self-motivated with a track record of demonstrated leadership abilities with senior business leaders, direct reports and finance colleagues.

  • Strong finance and accounting technical skills are required.

  • Lean thinking, value stream mapping, design thinking competencies to enable continuous improvement is preferred.

  • Strong independent, analytical, and critical thinking skills is required.

  • Ability to influence and effectively communicate with senior management and business stakeholders is required.

  • Ability to leverage technology to effectively work in a Global role is required.


  • This role will be located in Hopewell, NJ (with ability to commute to West Chester, PA) [20% of time].

  • This role may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
